NAD+ Therapy
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide), a molecule that resembles vitamin B3 (niacin), is a coenzyme that plays a big role in the ability of cells to make energy. NAD+ can be given by intramuscular (IM) injection or by IV drip. A typical NAD+ IM injection regimen involves starting at twice weekly injections at 20mg each. This dose can be raised based on patient tolerance and desired effects. Reducing injection frequency to once weekly can be attempted to maintain NAD+ levels. Alternatively, faster infusion of a larger dose of NAD+ can be given. This allows for a much more significant positive effect.
Because of potential side effects such as nausea and flushing, NAD+ infusions are given slowly, typically taking between 2-8 hours depending on dosage. IV NAD+ protocols vary but a typical regimen is one infusion weekly for 4 weeks to load and replete NAD+ in the body. This is followed by a maintenance infusion once every 4 to 8 weeks.​
